What you'll need

Prepare a small bowl with thick, scoopable food like yogurt, mashed potatoes, or oatmeal. Have a child-sized spoon ready. Sit facing your child at their eye level.

How it works

  1. 1~30s

    First, let's introduce the spoon. Place it in your child's hand and say, 'This is your spoon! Let's hold it together.' Watch how they grip it.

  2. 2~30s

    Now let's practice scooping! Guide their hand to dip the spoon in the bowl. Say, 'Let's scoop some yummy food!' Watch their scooping motion.

    Time for the big journey to the mouth! Help guide the spoon from bowl to mouth if needed. Say, 'To your mouth! Yummy!' Watch the hand-to-mouth coordination.
