What you'll need

Have your child in the bath with usual soap, a washcloth, and a cup for pouring. Bath toys that float are great but optional.

How it works

  1. 1~30s

Let's start with our washcloth! Say, 'Can you make your washcloth super soapy and wash your arms all by yourself?' Watch how they tackle this first step.

Watch for: Watch how child uses washcloth to scrub different body parts without prompting

  2. 2~30s

Now let's practice rinsing like a gentle shower. Hand your child the cup and say, 'Time to rinse the soap away! Can you pour water over your shoulders or hair?' Observe how they handle the water flow.

Watch for: Watch how child handles water pouring/rinsing during shampoo or soap removal

  3. 3~30s

Last step: bubble handwashing! Say, 'Let's wash our hands in the bath water. Show me how you scrub between your fingers and under your nails.' Watch their technique.

Watch for: Watch handwashing motions and sequence during bath play
