What you'll need

Have your child in the bath with a washcloth, a small plastic cup or bowl for rinsing, and child-safe soap or body wash nearby. Have a towel ready for after.

How it works

  1. 1~30s

Great! Let's start with our washcloth. Ask your child, 'Can you show me how you wash your arms all by yourself?' Let's see how much they can remember.

Watch for: Watch how your child uses the washcloth to scrub different body parts without being told each step.

  2. 2~30s

Now for some fun rinsing! Hand your child the plastic cup. Say, 'Let's pretend this is a little shower to rinse the soap off your arms. Can you pour the water?'

Watch for: Watch how your child responds to and manages the water pouring for rinsing.

  3. 3~45s

Perfect! After we dry off, let's finish with super-clean hands. At the sink, ask your child, 'Can you show me how you wash your hands all by yourself?' Observe the steps they remember.

Watch for: Watch the steps and thoroughness of your child's handwashing at the sink after bath.
