Bubble Bath Buddies
A warm, playful bath routine where parent and child work together on independent washing skills, hair washing, and safety awareness through guided conversation and gentle prompts.
Opens a guided voice session in TogetherTime.
What you'll need
Fill tub with warm water (test with elbow), gather washcloth, mild soap, plastic cup for rinsing, and towel nearby
How it works
- 1~30s
Let's start with safety first! Ask your child to dip their fingers in the water and tell you how it feels. You can say, 'Can you be our water tester? Dip your fingers and tell me — is it too hot, too cold, or just right?'
Watch for: How child tests water and describes temperature
- 2~30s
Time for bubble magic! Help your child put soap on the washcloth. Then say, 'Let's wash your arms first — make big circles like you're drawing with bubbles! Can you wash from shoulders to fingers?' Watch how they manage the washing motion.
Watch for: How child applies soap and scrubs arms independently
- 3~30s
Now for hair washing! Say, 'Time to give your hair a drink of water. Let's tip your head back like you're looking at the ceiling stars. Ready for the gentle waterfall?' Use the cup to pour water while they practice keeping eyes closed.
Watch for: How child positions head and tolerates water during hair rinsing
