Bubble Boat Wash
Parent and child engage in playful water exploration during bath time, using cups and bath toys to practice pouring, washing, and identifying body parts in a fun, guided activity.
Opens a guided voice session in TogetherTime.
What you'll need
Gather a plastic cup, a bath toy (e.g., duck, boat), and baby soap. Ensure bath water is shallow and warm.
How it works
- 1~30s
Let's begin! Hold up the cup and say, 'Our boat needs fuel! Can you pour some water on the boat to make it go?' Help your child fill the cup and pour water over the toy.
Watch for: Watch how your child holds and tips the cup to pour water onto the toy.
- 2~30s
Now let's wash our hands like the boat's captain! Put a tiny drop of soap on their palms. Say, 'Rub your hands together to make bubbles — scrub, scrub, scrub!' Then have them rinse by pouring water from the cup over their hands.
Watch for: Watch how your child participates in the hand-washing steps: rubbing with soap, then rinsing.
- 3~30s
Time to wash the boat's crew — that's us! Say, 'Let's wash your knee! Can you pour water on your knee?' Then try another part, like tummy or elbow. Make it a game: 'Where should we wash next?'
Watch for: Watch how your child responds when asked to wash or point to a body part (e.g., knee, tummy).
