What you'll need

Gather: a plastic cup, a small bowl or container, bath-safe soap, and 2-3 bath toys (boats, ducks, or cups work great). Make sure water is warm and at safe toddler level.

How it works

  1. 1~30s

Let's start by making bubble boats! Put a little soap on your child's hands. Say: 'Let's make bubbles for our boats! Rub your hands together like this.' Watch how they rub their hands.

Watch for: Watch how child rubs soap on hands

  2. 2~30s

Now let's give our boats a shower! Hand your child the cup and say: 'Pour water on the boat to rinse the bubbles away.' Watch how they pour.

Watch for: Watch how child pours water from cup onto toy

  3. 3~30s

Time to wash ourselves! Say: 'Let's wash your [arm/leg/tummy]. Can you find your [arm]?' Hand them the soapy toy. Watch how they identify and wash the body part.

Watch for: Watch how child identifies and washes named body part
