Storytime Detective
A playful listening game where {child_name} becomes a detective who listens carefully to a story and responds with clues, questions, and actions.

How it works

First, let's choose a story. Show your child the book and say, 'Detective your child, our mission is to listen to this story and find out what happens. Can you point to the picture on the cover and tell me what you think this story might be about?'

Now, let's read the first page or two. After reading, pause and ask, 'Detective your child, what did you hear? Can you tell me one thing that happened?'

Read a bit more, then stop at an exciting part. Ask, 'Detective your child, what do you think will happen next? Why?'

Near the end of the story, ask, 'Detective your child, how do you think [character] feels? Can you show me with your face?'
