How it works
- 1
Great! Let's start with the spoon. Hold it up where your child can see it clearly. Say, 'Look, your child! A spoon!' Then, gently tap it on the table or your hand to make a soft sound. Wait a moment and see if your child tries to say anything or makes a sound.

Wonderful. Now let's try the cup. Hold the cup up. Say, 'Cup! We drink from a cup.' You might pretend to take a sip. Then, offer the cup to your child and say, 'Your turn! Cup?' Wait and listen.
- 3
Now for the banana! Hold it up. Say, 'Banana! A yellow banana.' You might pretend to peel it a little. Bring it close to your child and say, 'Mmm, banana?' Wait for a sound or word.

Last treasure: the bowl. Hold the bowl. Say, 'Bowl. The bowl holds our food.' You might put the spoon inside. Show your child and say, 'Spoon in the bowl!' Then ask, 'Can you say bowl?'
