How it works

  1. 1

Let's start by sitting facing each other. Show your child how to clap once while saying 'one' clearly. Then say: 'Your turn! Can you clap once and say one?'

  2. 2

Now let's try two claps! Show your child: 'One, two!' (clap twice). Say: 'Can you clap two times and say one, two?'

  3. 3

Now let's go to three! Model: 'One, two, three!' (clap three times). Say: 'Your turn to clap and count to three!'

  4. 4

Let's try the whole sequence! Say: 'Ready for the big one? Let's count to FIVE! Watch me: One, two, three, four, five!' (clap each number). 'Now you try!'
