How it works

1. 1

   Let's start by giving your child a wooden spoon and showing {him_she} how to tap gently on the bottom of an upside-down plastic bowl. Watch how your child explores the sound.

   Now let's add a cardboard box to our drum set. Show your child how the box makes a different sound than the bowl. Try tapping on both surfaces.

3. 3

   Let's create a call-and-response game. I'll tap a simple rhythm, and you encourage your child to copy it. Start with just two taps: tap-tap.

4. 4

   Now let's add some movement! Tap the rhythm with your feet while your child taps with the spoon. Try a steady beat: tap, tap, tap, tap.
