How it works

  1. 1

First, let's get your child's attention. Hold the mirror so they can see both of your faces. Smile warmly and say, 'Hi your child! Look, it's you and me!'

  2. 2

Now, let's play peek-a-boo with the mirror. Cover your own face in the mirror with your hands or a cloth and say, 'Where did I go?' Then quickly reveal your face and say, 'Peek-a-boo! I see you!'

  3. 3

Next, let's try making different faces. Look in the mirror with your child and make a silly face, like sticking out your tongue or widening your eyes. Say, 'Look at my silly face!'

  4. 4

Now, let's practice taking turns. Gently tap the mirror where your child's reflection is and say, 'Tap tap! Your turn!' Then pause and wait, looking expectantly at your child.
