How it works
- 1
First, let's create our tunnel. Drape the blanket over two chairs or boxes to make a low tunnel. Place one of your child's favorite toys just inside the tunnel opening where they can see it but needs to move to reach it. Say: 'Look your child! Your teddy is waiting in the tunnel. Can you go get them?'
- 2
Now let's add a challenge! Place another toy a bit further in the tunnel, but this time put a small obstacle like a pillow or rolled blanket partway through. Say: 'Oh no! There's a bump in our tunnel. Your ball is on the other side. How can we get past this bump?'
- 3
Now for our final challenge! Place the last toy just outside the tunnel exit, but position it so your child needs to turn their body to reach it after exiting. Say: 'Look! Your cup is right there, but you'll need to turn to grab it after you come out of the tunnel.'

Let's celebrate and extend! Gather all the rescued toys and say: 'You rescued all our treasures! Now let's put them in this basket. But oh - the basket is up here on this chair. How can we reach it?'
