How it works

  1. 1

Let's start by asking your child what kind of tower they wants to build. Is it a castle, a spaceship, a treehouse, or something totally new?

  2. 2

Now let's build the first version. Ask your child to stack the blocks to make the tower they imagined. It might not look exactly right at first—that's part of the process!

  3. 3

Now let's add the story. Ask your child, "Who lives in or visits this tower? What happens there?" Encourage them to draw or tell the story.

  4. 4

Now let's encourage refinement. Say, "What could we add or change to make the tower even better for the story?" Maybe add a drawbridge, a flag, or rearrange parts.

  5. 5

Let's reflect. Ask your child, "What was your favorite part of building this tower? Is there anything you'd do differently next time?"
