How it works

First, let's get your child comfortable on the blanket. Place the checkerboard pattern about 8-12 inches from your child's face. Let's see if your child notices it. Take a moment to observe.

Now let's try the striped pattern. Slowly move it from one side to the other, about 10 inches from your child's face. Watch your child's eyes.

Now let's show your child the simple face drawing. Hold it still about 10 inches away. Faces are especially interesting to babies!

Let's try one more pattern—the polka dots. Hold it still, then gently move it up and down. Watch how your child responds.
