Backyard Bug Safari

How it works

1. 1

   Let's start our safari! Ask your child to look carefully around us - on the ground, on plants, under leaves. Can they spot any living creatures moving around?

2. 2

   Now let's use our magnifying glass to look closely at one creature. Ask your child: What do you notice about this bug? How many legs does it have? What color is it?

3. 3

   Now let's think about where this creature lives. Ask your child: Why do you think this bug is here? What might it be doing?

4. 4

   Let's be scientists and record what we found! Help your child draw the bug in our notebook or take a photo. Then ask: How is this bug different from another creature we saw?
