How it works
- 1
Let's start with texture exploration. Show your child the different fabrics. Say, 'Let's feel these together! This towel is soft, this scarf is slippery.' Encourage your child to touch each one.
- 2
Now let's explore sounds. Tap the metal spoon against the plastic container, then the wooden spoon. Say, 'Listen! This spoon goes tap-tap, this one goes clink!' Encourage your child to try making sounds.
- 3
Let's explore how materials can change. Show your child how to crumple paper and flatten it back out. Pour some rice or pasta from one hand to another. Say, 'Watch the paper change shape! Feel the rice trickle.'
- 4
Now let's combine senses. Encourage your child to explore an item using multiple senses. Say, 'Let's look at this feather, feel how light it is, and watch it float.' Or 'This sponge is squishy and makes a funny sound when we squeeze it.'
