How it works

  1. 1

First, let's create our sticky surface. Take a piece of masking tape and make a sticky-side-up circle on the paper plate. Show your child how the tape feels sticky. Say, 'Look, this tape is sticky! It can hold things.'

  2. 2

Now let's find our first texture treasure! Choose something soft like a cotton ball. Show your child how to press it onto the sticky tape. Say, 'Watch how the cotton ball sticks to the tape!'

  3. 3

Let's try a different texture! Choose something bumpy like dry pasta or crinkled paper. Ask your child, 'Can you make this bumpy treasure stick too?'

  4. 4

Now let's make our own joining material! If you have a glue stick, show your child how to make a glue circle on the plate. Say, 'We're making our own sticky spot! Now choose another treasure to stick here.'
