How it works

  1. 1

    Let's begin! Say 'your child, can you help me?' in a warm, inviting tone. Wait to see if your child looks at you or comes closer.

  2. 2

    Now show your child the container with pasta/cereal. Say 'your child, can you use the spoon to scoop some into this empty container?' Demonstrate once if needed.

  3. 3

    Now point to a different empty container. Say 'your child, can you put the lid on this container?' Hold up a lid.

  4. 4

    For our last instruction, say 'your child, can you give me a high five?' Hold your hand up.
