How it works

   Let's start by inviting your child to the kitchen cabinet or drawer you've prepared. Say something like, 'I wonder what's inside here?' and open it slowly to show the items. Watch how your child responds.

   Now let your child explore the items. Don't direct them—just watch what they chooses to investigate first. Notice if they examines items closely, tries different actions with them, or shows preferences.

   Watch how your child moves between items. Does they return to favorites? Try combining items? Show persistence when something is challenging?

4. 4

   Notice if your child brings their own ideas to the exploration. Do they use items in unexpected ways? Show excitement about discoveries? Initiate new investigations?
