Our Family Mural Adventure
A collaborative art activity where parent and child create a shared mural by taking turns adding elements, practicing sharing ideas and materials while building a joint masterpiece.

How it works

Let's begin! you, you start by drawing something on our mural. It could be a sun, a tree, a house, or anything you like. Then invite your child to add something that goes with your drawing.

Now you, it's your child's turn! Ask they what they wants to add to the mural. If they needs ideas, you could suggest adding to what you drew or starting something new.

Now let's practice sharing the materials. you, hand one of the crayons or markers to your child and say 'Your turn to choose a color!' Watch how they responds.

Let's build on each other's work. you, look at what your child just drew. Add something that connects to it - like if they drew a flower, you could add a bee or more flowers nearby.

For our final turn, let's decide together how to finish our mural. you, ask your child 'What's missing from our picture?' or 'How should we finish it?' Then incorporate their suggestion.
