How it works

  1. 1

First, let's set up our treasure hunt. Place the objects around the room in plain sight but not too obvious. Then cover them with the blanket. Say: 'We're going to play a game where your child needs to focus and find hidden treasures. I'll give clues one at a time, and they needs to listen carefully and look for the right object.'

  2. 2

Now give the first clue. Make it simple and clear: 'Find something we use for eating.' Pause and let your child search. Observe how they focuses on the task.

  3. 3

Give the second clue, but introduce a mild distraction first. {Parent_name}, make a soft noise (like tapping) or move slightly, then give clue: 'Now find something soft we wear on our feet.' Observe if your child ignores the distraction.

  4. 4

Now we'll practice shifting attention. Give two clues quickly: 'First find something blue, then find something that holds water.' Observe how your child manages switching between tasks.
