How it works

  1. 1

Let's start with a classic: 'Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes.' Sing slowly and touch each body part as you name it. Encourage your child to join you, even if they just watches at first.

  2. 2

Now let's try 'The Wheels on the Bus' with motions. Sing about the wheels going round, wipers swishing, and doors opening/closing. Make big, exaggerated movements.

  3. 3

Time for a freeze dance song! Sing 'Shake Your Sillies Out' (or similar) and encourage your child to shake, jump, and wiggle. Pause occasionally saying 'FREEZE!' and hold still.

  4. 4

Let's wind down with a gentle action song like 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.' Add slow hand motions (twinkling fingers, arms as cradle). Notice if your child follows the calmer pace.
