Where Did It Go? — The Dropping Game
Parent drops a toy in front of baby to see if they look down at the ground to find it. Agent guides parent through a natural play sequence that observes early object tracking and the beginnings of object permanence, while keeping baby engaged and happy.
Opens a guided voice session in TogetherTime.
What you'll need
Baby in supported seated position (lap or bouncer). Parent has a small toy that makes sound when dropped. Hard floor surface nearby for audible drop.
How it works
- 1~10s
First, show your child the toy. Hold it right in front of their face, maybe 10 inches away, and give it a little shake. Does your child look at it? Reach for it?

Now, while your child is watching, slowly move the toy to one side and let it drop to the ground. Make sure it makes a little sound when it lands. After it drops, watch your child's eyes — does they look down toward where it fell?

Let's do it once more. Pick up the toy, show it to your child again, and drop it. This time, does your child look down faster? Does they seem to expect it?

One more thing — during all of this, did your child make any sounds? A little squeal when the toy fell, a babble, a fuss? Whatever sounds came out tell us about engagement and early communication.
