How it works

  1. 1

First, let's help your child identify the problem. Show them the two books with the gap between them and the animals on one side. Ask: 'What problem do our animals have? How can we help them get to the other book?'

  2. 2

Now let's brainstorm solutions. Ask: 'What could we use from our materials to build a bridge? Which items might work best and why?'

  3. 3

Time to test! Have your child build their first bridge attempt. Ask: 'Let's try your idea! Build your bridge and we'll see if it works.'

  4. 4

Test the bridge with a toy animal. Ask: 'Does your bridge work? What happens when the animal tries to cross? What could we improve?'

  5. 5

Encourage iteration. Ask: 'Let's try again with what we learned! Can you build an even better bridge this time?'
