How it works

  1. 1

First, let's set up our treasure hunt. Place the two bowls on the table and scatter the small kitchen items between them. Show your child how to use the tweezers or clothespin to pick up one item. Say, 'Watch how I pinch and pick up this bean!' Then hand the tool to your child and encourage them to try.

  2. 2

Now, let's hunt for treasures! Ask your child to pick up one item at a time and move it from the scattered area into one of the bowls. You can say, 'Can you use your tweezers to rescue this pasta shape and put it in the bowl?'

  3. 3

Let's add a sorting challenge! If you have colored items or paper, place a colored sticker on each bowl. Ask your child to sort the items by color or type. Say, 'Let's put all the beans in the bowl with the red sticker and all the pasta in the bowl with the blue sticker.'

  4. 4

For our final turn, let's make it a race against the clock! Set a timer for 30 seconds and challenge your child to move as many items as they can into the bowls. Cheer them on! Say, 'Ready, set, go! How many treasures can you rescue before the timer beeps?'
