How it works

  1. 1

First, let's plan our treasure hunt. {Parent_name}, help your child choose 3-5 small household objects to hide as 'treasure.' Then, ask your child to draw simple pictures on paper or cards to represent each object. This helps your child practice planning and organizing by creating a visual map.

  2. 2

Now, you, hide the objects around the room while your child isn't looking. Then, give your child the drawings and ask they to find each object by matching the drawing to the real item. Encourage your child to think flexibly if they can't find something right away.

  3. 3

After finding all the objects, you, ask your child to put them in the treasure box in a specific order, like by size or color. Then, discuss what was easy or hard about the hunt. This helps your child reflect and self-monitor.
