How it works

  1. 1

Let's start by talking about different feelings. Ask your child: 'What's a happy feeling like? Is it sunny, rainy, or something else?'

  2. 2

Now let's talk about frustrated or angry feelings. Ask: 'What weather might feel like when we're frustrated? Maybe stormy or windy?'

  3. 3

Let's create our Feelings Weather Station! Help your child draw or create weather symbols for different emotions. Suggest: 'Let's make a sunny face for happy and storm clouds for frustrated.'

  4. 4

Now let's practice using our weather station. Ask: 'If you felt disappointed about not getting a cookie, what weather would you be? And what helps that weather change?'
