How it works

  1. 1

First, let's make a happy face together! Show your child how to draw a big smile on a paper plate. Then make your own happy face and encourage your child to copy you. Say, 'Look at my happy face! Can you make a happy face too?'

  2. 2

Now let's try a surprised face! Make your eyes wide and say 'Oh!' Show your child how to draw big round eyes on another plate. Ask, 'Can you make a surprised face? What makes you feel surprised?'

  3. 3

Let's explore a calming face. Take a deep breath together and make a peaceful expression. Draw a calm face on a plate. Say, 'Sometimes we feel calm like a quiet lake. Can you show me your calm face?'

  4. 4

Now let's mix feelings! Hold up two different face plates. Ask, 'Can you feel two feelings at once? Like excited and nervous about a new school?' Make a mixed expression together.
