Treasure Box Challenge
A playful activity where {child_name} learns to recognize when help is needed while trying to open a tricky treasure box, practicing asking for assistance appropriately.
Opens a guided voice session in TogetherTime.
How it works
- 1
Show your child the treasure box and say: 'Look! We have a special treasure box here. Inside is something fun for you. Your challenge is to try to open it by yourself first. If you find it tricky, that's okay—we can figure it out together. Go ahead and give it a try!'
- 2
If your child hasn't opened the box yet, say: 'It looks like this box is being a bit stubborn. That's okay—everyone needs help sometimes. Can you ask me for help in a friendly way? You could say, "you, can you help me please?"' If your child already opened it, say: 'Great job! Now let's pretend it's tricky again. Can you show me how you would ask for help if you needed it?'
- 3
Once your child asks for help (or after modeling), say: 'Thank you for asking so nicely! Let's work together. I'll hold the box here, and you try pulling the lid. Ready? One, two, three—pull!' After opening, celebrate: 'We did it! Teamwork makes the dream work. Now let's see our treasure!'
- 4
After enjoying the treasure, say: 'That was fun! Let's think about what we did. First, you tried by yourself. Then, when it was tricky, you asked for help. And we solved it together! Can you tell me: when is a good time to ask for help?'
