Page-Turning Adventure
A cozy book-sharing activity that helps your child practice turning pages one at a time using their thumb and fingers.
Opens a guided voice session in TogetherTime.
How it works
- 1
Let's start by showing your child how to turn a page. Open the book to the first page and say, 'Watch how I turn the page.' Slowly demonstrate using your thumb on one side and fingers on the other. Then ask, 'Can you try turning the next page?'
- 2
Now let's practice turning a few more pages. Point to the next page and say, 'Can you turn this page to see what's next?' If your child turns it, praise and ask, 'What do you see?' If not, encourage with, 'Let's try together—thumb here, fingers here.'
- 3
Let's make it a game! Say, 'I'll point to a picture, and you turn the page to find it.' Point to an image on the next page. If your child turns successfully, celebrate! If not, say, 'Let's turn together—ready, set, turn!'
