How it works

    First, let's get your child's attention. Hold the mirror so they can see {himself_herself}. Say, 'Look, your child! Who's that?'

    Now, let's make it more personal. Point to your child's reflection and say, 'There's your child! I see you!' Then point to your own reflection and say, 'And there's Mama/Dada!'

  3. 3

    Let's add some play! Make a funny face in the mirror—maybe puff your cheeks or wiggle your nose. Say, 'Silly face!'

  4. 4

    Finally, let's see if your child interacts with the mirror. Hold the mirror steady and say, 'Can you touch the baby?' or 'Pat, pat the mirror.'
