How it works

  1. 1

First, let's warm up with some simple clapping. Show your child how to clap your hands together. Say 'Clap, clap, clap!' with a big smile. Let's see if your child tries to clap back with you.

  2. 2

Now let's add peek-a-boo to our rhythm. Hold up the blanket between you and your child. Say 'Where's your child?' then lower it quickly with 'Peek-a-boo!' Do this a few times, then pause to see if your child shows anticipation.

  3. 3

Let's combine our clapping and peek-a-boo into a simple game. Clap three times, then do a peek-a-boo. Say 'Clap, clap, clap... Peek-a-boo!' Repeat this pattern a few times.

  4. 4

Now let's try taking turns. Do one round of clap-clap-clap-peek-a-boo, then pause and look expectantly at your child. See if they indicates they wants another turn.
