How it works
- 1
First, I'll show you how to play. Watch me take these toys out of the container. Ready? (Take items out one by one, placing them in front of you.) Look, your child! Out they come!
- 2
Now let's see if your child wants to try! Put the toys back in the container and say 'your child, can you take the toys out like I did?'
- 3
Let's make it a little game! Say 'your child, watch me take them out one by one. One... two... three!' Count as you slowly remove items. Then say 'Your turn! Can you take them out one by one?'
- 4
Now let's try something different! Say 'Watch what I do now—I'm putting the toys BACK in the container!' Demonstrate putting items back in. Then say 'Can you put them back like I did?'
- 5
Let's end with some fun back-and-forth! Say 'My turn!' and take one item out. Then say 'your child's turn!' and wait. Keep taking turns, making eye contact and smiling each time.
