How it works

  1. 1

First, let's get your child interested. Choose one object—maybe the rattle or a bright spoon—and hold it about 8-10 inches from your child's face. Gently shake or tap it to get their attention. Say something like, 'Look your child, here's a fun toy!'

  2. 2

Now, place the object just within reach—about 4-6 inches from your child's hands. Keep talking encouragingly: 'Can you grab the toy, your child? You can do it!'

  3. 3

If your child touched the object, encourage grasping. Say, 'Can you hold it, your child?' If they hasn't touched it yet, keep the object close and pat it into their palm.

  4. 4

Let's try with a different object. Place a new treasure on the other side and see if your child reaches across their body. 'Look, another one over here!'
