Clap-Along Celebration
A joyful activity where parent and child practice expressing excitement through clapping and movement using everyday objects.
Opens a guided voice session in TogetherTime.
How it works
- 1
First, let's get your child warmed up. Hold up the two plastic cups and tap them together gently to make a soft clapping sound. Say, 'Look your child! Cups can clap too!'
- 2
Now, place the favorite toy in front of your child. Gently clap your own hands and say, 'Yay for [toy name]! Let's clap for our friend!' Encourage your child to clap along.
- 3
Let's add some movement! Hold the cups up high and say, 'Cups up high!' Then bring them down low and clap them together. Say, 'Now clap down low!' See if your child follows with their own clapping or body movement.
- 4
Now let's make a celebration! Pick up the toy and dance gently with it while clapping the cups. Say, 'We're having a party! Clap, clap, hooray!' See if your child joins in with clapping, bouncing, or happy sounds.
