How it works

  1. 1

Let's start by showing your child how stacking works. Place one object on the flat surface, then slowly place another on top. Say something like 'Look, I'm building a tower!' as you do it. Then give your child a turn.

  2. 2

Now let's encourage your child to try stacking. Place one object on the surface and hand them another similar object. Say 'Your turn! Can you put this on top?'

  3. 3

Let's see if your child can stack two objects independently. Place both objects within reach and say 'Can you build a tower?'

  4. 4

Let's make it fun with repetition and variation. Encourage your child to knock down the tower and rebuild it. Say 'Crash! Now let's build it again!'
