How it works

  1. 1

First, let's create a rhythm base. Tap the spoon gently against the bowl - tap-tap-tap. Make eye contact with your child and smile as you create this simple beat.

  2. 2

Now let's add some vocal play. As you tap, make simple babbling sounds like 'ba-ba-ba' or 'da-da-da' in rhythm with your tapping. Keep it playful and watch your child's response.

  3. 3

Let's create a call-and-response game. Make a sound like 'ba-ba-ba' and then pause, giving your child time to respond. Watch for any vocalization or movement after your pause.

  4. 4

Now let's vary the sounds. Try different consonant-vowel combinations like 'ma-ma-ma', 'da-da-da', and 'ga-ga-ga'. Notice which sounds your child responds to most.
