Name-and-show

When baby shows the parent an object — by holding it up, pointing, or bringing it over — the parent names it warmly and returns the attention. Agent coaches the parent to treat every 'showing' as a meaningful bid for connection. Observations track baby's initiations and parent's responsiveness to bids.

What you'll need

Sit with your child where they has access to a few things they can reach. No setup beyond being available.

How it works

  1. 1~60s

Don't prompt. Just be available. Pay close attention. Wait until they offers something — holds up a toy, points, reaches.

  2. 2~10s

When they shows you something, name it warmly. 'Oh! A BLOCK! You have a block!' Match their energy — if they's excited, be excited. If they's quiet, stay quiet and soft.

  3. 3~15s

Stay on it. Ask a little question — 'is it yours? Can I touch it?' Watch them decide. Whatever they does, honour it. If they gives it to you, take it gently. If they pulls back, smile and nod.
