Simple dancing together

Music plays and parent and toddler move together — holding hands, spinning, swaying, stomping. Whole-body co-regulation that also builds shared joy. Agent coaches the parent to match the child's energy rather than directing it.

What you'll need

Clear a bit of floor space. Shoes off. Music on at a comfortable volume.

How it works

  1. 1~20s

Put the music on. Don't announce it as 'dance time.' Just start swaying. See what they does.

  2. 2~45s

Take their hands, or lift them onto your feet, or lift them into your arms. Whatever they wants. Now move together.

  3. 3~10s

When the song ends, give a big finish — a spin, a lift, a hug. Make the close clear.
