Occupation Match-Up Game
Parent and child play a matching game connecting community helpers with their tools. The agent coaches the parent to observe how the child categorizes objects, understands social roles, and makes connections between professions and their associated items — building cognitive categorization and community awareness.
Free to do together whenever you like.
What you'll need
Parent and child sitting together at a table or on the floor. Have paper, scissors, tape, and talk about professions and tools out loud: doctor and stethoscope, firefighter and hose, chef and spoon, mail carrier and mailbox, teacher and ruler, astronaut and spaceship. You can use household objects, real things in the room, or family picture books/photos if available.
How it works
The 3-step guide, with what to look for at each step, is for signed-in parents.
